September 2010

So for our 10 YEAR wedding anniversary, we did something we have always wanted to do... NEW YORK CITY!!!! We have never left the kids for more than two nights, so this was a BIG deal, but hey, 10 YEARS!!! Uncle Joe and Aunt Rachel came and stayed with the girls, and spoiled them shamelessly! The girls barely missed us, and we were so grateful they were in great hands. We went for FIVE whole days! Rick and Becky Lewis went with us, and we were so glad- LOVE them! New York was so exciting and a little terrifying all at the same time. It was so nice to do it with good friends.

Our Hotel Belle Claire- no bedbugs:-) PHEW!

Riding the subway was quite the experience... but we had it down pat by the end!

Times Square- sooo many people!

At Seaport checking out the Brooklyn Bridge.

Does it get any better than a Broadway show- ON BROADWAY?! Love love love the music in Mama Mia, Steve and I sang through the whole thing...

...and Becky and I danced outta there!

The architecture in New York is like nothing else. Absolutely breathtaking!

Steve's happy place!

We got to go to a Yankee game, and they played the Red Sox! There were policemen EVERYWHERE... gotta love New York fans!

Great seats!

In order to see every little bit of New York, we spent two days doing a tour on these double decker buses.

Chinatown- I held my breath the whole time through here... stinky fish markets! Becky and I were practically dry heaving! We did find some cute little gifts for the kids though.

Beautiful Brooklyn, one of my favorite places we went.

YUM! Katz Deli!

The best sandwiches, and made me smile 'cuz this is where that infamous "When Harry Met Sally" sandwich scene was filmed! YES! YES! YES!

We got to see another show! HEAVEN! The music and dancing in this show cannot be described in words. Steve was just giddy when all of the Peurto Ricans spoke spanish throughout the show!

So the only dissapointment of the whole trip was when we went to the Manhatten temple, and they had closed early that day. Dang! Guess we will have to go back!:-)

We did got to Manhatten first ward on Sunday. It was crazy to walk into this huge skyscraper, and see a church building that on the inside looks exactly like every other LDS building.

On the Staten Island Ferry checking out the Statue of Liberty.

Love this girl!

Rick and Becky are the best! Loved squishing on baby Kylie the whole time too!

Central Park- gorgeous!

The last place we ate in New York! YUM!!!! It was a SEVEN! (Steve and I have this little inside joke about "seven".... it's from "Friends"!)
